South Indian newspaper giant Aamoda Publications is upgrading print quality and production efficiency with a 28-press order for colour registration control.
Installation of systems on the first 15 Manugraph presses is complete, with reports of "dramatic" waste reductions following installation of QuadTech's MultiCam-based Register Guidance and ribbon control systems.
Resulting increased cost control and improved margins are critical to growth, and will enable the company to profitably expand its geographic footprint in Telangana and other regions of Andhra Pradesh.
The QuadTech systems have been specifically installed to support the expansion of Andhra Jyothi, which has recently extended production and readership in several towns and cities including Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Tirupathi and Vishakapatnam. The Telugu language daily newspaper is the second largest paper in Andhra Pradesh, with a readership of 12.5 million people across 21 cities in South India.
Managing director Radhakrishna Vemuri asays the investment supports tight control of margins through increased production efficiencies, key to profitability in publishing and maintaining a competitive edge: "QuadTech's technology is already enabling us to achieve that, and we expect to see current results amplified many times over when all 28 installations are completed next year."
