Inkjet web infeed and finishing systems maker Tecnau has upgraded its cutting elements to handle wider, heavier stocks.

The new guillotine Cutter c7 accommodates web widths up to 584mm. (23 in), meaning it supports output from all major web-fed inkjet presses. It now handles paper weights up to 400gsm, opening the door to a variety of high-value applications… and can process lighter stocks down to 60gsm.

Built on the established TC 7000 TS, the Cutter c7 can start and stop instantly – unlike rotary systems – allowing synchronisation with downstream processes. This enables seamless integration into a wide range of finishing lines, such as saddle stitchers, folders or book sewing machines, reducing waste and enhancing finishing flexibility.

Tecnau says the c7 – the chief component of its CutReady line – delivers sharper cuts as a result of its guillotine cutting technology. A white paper management system separates blank sheets, and a larger waste bin reduces the need for operator intervention.

The cutter will be shown at ChinaPrint 2025 inline with a Horizon binding solution (pictured) on Horizon’s stand.
