Press maker Koenig & Bauer used the opportunity of an open house in Radebeul to introduce new key executives including Markus Weiss and Sandra Wagner.

The packaging-focussed event also showcased a productive new digital press and the group’s myKyana digital ecosystem at the event at K&B’s customer experience centre.

The ‘expand your business model’ event introduced decision-makers from Europe, North and South America, Asia and Africa to current trends and opportunities.

Weiss (pictured) – newly-appointed chief executive for sheetfed systems – focussed on the value chain for folding carton production, while Koenig & Bauer Kyana chief executive Sandra Wagner explained the use of data and AI-supported digital products.

A demonstration showed the entire folding carton production value chain – from prepress, through printing, die-cutting, and folder-gluing, up to despatch-ready packaging in under 15 minutes. With AGVs, bundled data and AI-supported products also central to the event, visitors saw the use of digital print with variable content and invisible security features.
