Hanna Israel (pictured) who heads Germany’s My Country Talks initiative, is one of three overseas speakers named so far for WAN-Ifra’s Digital Media India 2023 Conference.

My Country Talks started in 2017, when the Zeit Online newsroom was seeking a way to bring readers together across political divides. Since then, media partners from around Germany have come together once a year to bring political dissidents into a personal dialogue. In cooperation with dozens of media partners, tens of thousands of people from all over Germany have already been won over to participate in ‘Deutschland spricht’ (Germany speaks).

The other overseas speakers (so far) are Lucio Mesquita from UK-based podcast consultancy Earshot Strategies, and Dong-A Ilbo digital innovation head Saemmool Lee from South Korea.

Digital Media India 2023 takes place from March 16-17 at the Holiday Inn at Delhi International Airport.

From India are Hindu Group chief executive L V Navaneeth, The Quint co-founder and chief executive Ritu Kapur, Jagran New Media chief executive Bharat Gupta, Deepit Purkayastha (co-founder of Inshorts and Public app), MediaNama founder and editor Nikhil Pahwa, ABM Jabed Sultan (chief business officer of Prothom Alo Digital), and Brut editor-in-chief Mehak Kasbekar.

WAN-Ifra promises the opportunity to engage with speakers, network with other professionals and participate in discussions and debates that will shape the future of digital media.
