A 'design thinking' workshop for improving video platforms is one of three masterclasses being held ahead of the Digital Media Asia conference in Singapore next month.

VJ trainer Robb Montgomery is following a 40-minute webinar which set the scene earlier this week to his workshop, set to be a transformative experience leading participants to use design thinking methods to innovate on deadline, and identify ideas for generating high levels of engagement.

Digital Media Asia is being held at the Orchard Hotel, Singapore from November 1-2, preceded by the workshops in October 31.

Another masterclass from digital media expert and WAN-Ifra advisor Steffen Damborg will cover paid content business models. Topics to be covered include choosing the right pay wall in your market, reinventing the customer journey, and best practices for implementing a pay wall, from an editorial and a commercial point of view.

A digital director and board member with more than ten years' experience in all aspects of running an online business in the Scandinavian media market, and a digital disruption specialist, Damborg is currently focussed on the digital transformation of the media industry. This includes different aspects of online media publishing, strategic development and emergent approaches towards new sustainable digital business models in the disrupted Nordic region media market.

Finally, Sumaiya Omar (pictured), the half of the HashtagOurStories partnership that didn't make it to Sydney's Inform Summit, is due into Singapore for a half-day masterclass on mobile publishing. More specifically, she'll focus on the storytelling potential of Snapchat Live Stories and Facebook Live in a session full of concrete tips for making the most out of these platforms.
