Integrated system to help Malay Mail monetise

English-language daily the Malay Mail will use WoodWing´s Enterprise multi-channel publishing system and Elvis digital asset management solution.

Integration of the two systems will enable the streamlining of editorial and production processes for the Malaysian daily, and sets the stage for further monetisation of existing content.

Distributed in Kuala Lumpur and Peninsula Malaysia, the tabloid Malay Mail has a circulation of 100,000, and previously used neither a workflow publishing system nor DAM.

With the help of WoodWing partner Serious Technology, they have created a system which supports the editorial process from idea and research through authoring and creation of the article to publication. Editors and designers can preview the entire publication and its progression at any time.

Content from an issue is automatically archived, making it easy to retrieve, repurpose and syndicate. Editor-in-chief Wong Sai Wan says the paper is on an expansion phase with publication on all platforms: "This new editorial and production environment will be instrumental to our growth and integration at all platforms."
