Technology from Piano Media and Cxense will enable publishers to identify, segment and convert site users, the partners say.

Paywall provider Piano's OEM partner agreement sees several Cxense products integrated to provide a content recommendation engine.

Piano chief executive Kelly Leach says combining technologies will enable them to help clients grow digital subscriptions faster: "Content recommendation engages the reader by offering further stories, photo galleries, audio and video that is immediately relevant to the user, thus increasing the likelihood a user will ultimately purchase a subscription."

Cxense chief executive Ståle Bjørnstad says the company will replicate experience with publishers such as the Wall Street Journal. Piano will sell and integrate Cxense Insight, DMP and Content.

Piano Media's clients include M. DuMont Schauberg, Verlagsgruppe Passau, DC Thomson, Agora S.A., Romanes Media Group, the Independent (London) and North American publishers McClatchy, Digital First Media, GateHouse Media, Morris Publishing, Postmedia Network and IBT Media.

• A partnership between Ramp and Cxense will provide real-time video analytics and recommendations.

They say their integration will help major publishers drive more video views across web, mobile and over-the-top platforms and applications. This includes keyword-based video search, contextual trending and behavioural recommendations.

The combined solution features a set of user interface approaches, including pre-configured recommendation 'widgets and an API for customised implementations.

Ramp chief executive Tom Wilde says the biggest challenge customers face is how to drive more video views for their premium content to fulfill demand from advertisers: Cxense's data-driven approach to understanding large audiences to deliver real-time, personalised recommendations, combined with our unique ability to understand the context of a video, form the first complete solution for publishers."
