vjoon users get together in New York

US users of vjoon’s workflow and digital publishing got tigether at the German developer’s first American user conference in New York.

Attendees represented publications as diverse as Highlights for Children, Le Point, the New York Times and the Hollywood Reporter, with more than 120 present.

Norman Firchau, chief executive of the US branch of Porsche Consulting drew parallels between the agile manufacturing practices that took the Porsche Group to the top of the world market and vjoon’s ‘unified publishing process’.

Olivier Bost, IT and multimedia director of French news magazine Le Point, explained how to design and deliver apps for smartphones using extensively automated routines.

In a breakout sessions, delegates were shown how the New York Times uses axaio MadeToPrint, and Prometheus Global Media exports XML content to the web.

vjoon chief executive Andreas Schrader says the “vjoonity” event in New York affirmed a strategy of pursuing more direct interactions with customers in the Americas and taking up suggestions in product development. Advances in the K4 Version 6.8 R1 release were also discussed.
