A new Sky News radio station for Australian audiences will be accessible via digital radio, certain apps and its website.

Head of digital Tim Love says the platform will bolster Sky’s coverage enabling more people to access its content. “Our launch into digital radio is another fantastic avenue that enables our network to extend the reach of our news, opinion and documentary programming to more Australians,” he said.

The TV channel’s live stream becomes available on a new DAB+ station called Sky News Radio in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, and will include content from across its programming schedule, from daytime shows to prime-time commentary programmes.

Sky is following a trend which has seen a 48 per cent increase in the number of DAB+ only stations since 2021. Last January, Sky News launched a direct-to-consumer subscription streaming service and expanded its ad-supported streaming TV channel on Samsung and LG devices.

Daytime presenters will include Peter Stefanovic, Laura Jayes and chief news anchor Kieran Gilbert. Familiar names to feature in evening broadcasting include Chris Kenny, Peta Credlin (pictured), Andrew Bolt, Sharri Markson and Paul Murray, plus Sunday’s Outsiders program led by Rowan Dean, Rita Panahi and James Morrow.

The content is also available at skynews.com.au, on the Sky News Australia app and platforms including the Nova Player, Smooth Player, Star 104.5 Player and FIVEAA player apps.
