WAN-Ifra will launch its AI Unlocked programme on Tuesday in a webinar with Laurens Vreekamp of partner Fathm.
The AI Unlocked programme and forum has been tailored for all news media publishers interested in artificial intelligence and its impact on their organisation.
The programme will deliver a webinar each month together with web-delivered resources, while WAN-Ifra says it is building a “community of practice” for media experts who can share their ideas, concepts and experiences through a dedicated online forum. It is free to members.
Partner Fathm is a London-based media lab, news consultancy and creative studio which has extensive expertise in AI. Chief executive Fergus Bell (pictured) says helping newsrooms map out implementable solutions for AI in 2024 is a key priority: “We are delighted to partner with WAN-Ifra to support its members and the wider journalism community with resources and solutions that will work from the newsroom to the C-suite.”
A transformative power for the news media, AI presents a wide range of possibilities and challenges, spanning content creation, generation and automation, personalised content distribution, data analysis and interpretation, as well as fact-checking and validation. Additionally, it can improve language translation, optimise search capabilities, automate routine tasks, enable predictive analytics and enhance resource management efficiency.
The AI Unlocked programme includes virtual sessions with industry experts and an immersive workshop at WAN-Ifra’s World News Media Congress in Copenhagen in May.
The launch webinar – “How to enable your organisation for AI adoption” – takes place on February 27 at 3 pm CET. Laurens Vreekamp is an author on AI and associate consultant of Fathm. The discussion will highlight building blocks required to move from stand-alone projects to full-scale production, including setting up multidisciplinary teams, skills recruitment, training investment, and technical infrastructure.
Join the Inaugural Session on February 27 Registration to AI Unlocked/access to webinars is open on AI Unlocked.
