Family ties – and an ‘awesome opportunity’ – lure Wilton back

Former Creo Australia marketing manager – and most recently global director of partner and sustainability initiatives for Kodak’s graphics communications group in Vancouver, Canada – Mark Wilton has returned to Australia to a new role with DES Group. He says family connections in Sydney were a substantial factor in his decision to return, plus an “awesome opportunity” to develop the X-Rite colour measurement business locally. But after Vancouver – where he had a walk-on role in the Winter Olympics – he admits, “it’s really good to be back just two buildings from the beach at Coogee.” Although he has been a regular visitor to trade events in Australia since leaving in 2004, his presence at the National Print Awards dinner last Friday caused a stir. He will continue with the activities of his Wilton Partners consultancy, which works with software vendors, and remains a board member of the CIP4 Organisation as chief education and marketing officer, for which elections are due this year.
