UK headquartered systems developer Miles 33 has acquired MGB Systems and its suite of circulation, subscription and free newspaper distribution products. Formed in 1990, MGB has about 20 installations of its Quantum suite in the UK. Its product range covers canvassing, marketing, direct delivery, subscriptions, reader clubs, free newspaper distribution, national and local leaflet booking, newsagent and wholesaler publishing and digital street mapping. Miles says it did well in 2009, with revenue at an all time high and increased profit. The year saw final integration of earlier acquisitions - among them netlinx and televisual - "all of which have performed well", and significant orders in Latin America and Asia. Jopint owner of MGB Gerry Baylis says he feels they have taken the company as far as they can as individuals: "Now it needs the infrastructure and resources of a larger organisation to maximise its potential." Baylis and Mark Goldsmith will remain with Miles 33 through the handover period.
