The business model behind the  pioneering ‘niiu’ personalised newspaper featured on the cover story of August GXpress is being launched at IfraExpo in Vienna next week.

InterTi GmbH, the company behind the German project, is introducing the concept at a media conference on October 13, in association with digital printing systems developer Océ which makes the JetStream 2200 inkjet web press being used.

InterTi’s business model for digital newspapers is being introced with ‘niiu’ in the German capital of Berlin. The ‘individualised’ newspaper includes content from a number of different publishers and from the internet. Participating are regional, national and international titles which will allow their own content to be included in the personalised newspaper.

Readers can select specific content through a web-based platform, and their newspaper is then produced on a digital press and delivered the following day.
