Aquafadas has changed its name following its March acquisition by Rakuten.
The French company becomes Rakuten Aquafadas as part of moves which mark the 20th anniversary of the global internet services company and operator of Japan's leading online shopping mall.
Following the March acquisition, Yasufumi Hirai was appointed chairman and Koichiro Takahara chief executive, and the company says expanding Aquafadas mobile apps and digital publishing system as a central aggregator of various Rakuten B2B and B2C services has become a key focus.
"Aquafadas technology is perfect as an accelerator when it comes to enterprise digital transformation," Takahara says.
He says the closer integration with Rakuten will see it tools compatible with other group technologies including mobile messaging, on-demand video, e-commerce and video conferencing. As a result, Aquafadas app will become a hub, grouping several services together.
