Quark says the upgrade of its QuarkXPress design and layout softyware will be out by the end of this month.

Dubbed QuarkXPress 2015, it includes new 64-bit architecture, optimised print and digital production and a number of user-requested features. It will continue to be sold as a perpetual licence, from the release date of April 28, but buyers of QXP10 will be upgraded free.

The 'top ten' most-requested enhancements also include Verified PDF/X-4 output, a dedicated orthogonal line tool, fixed layout interactive eBooks, and user-definable shortcut keys for Mac users.
