A new partnership between Koenig & Bauer and Tessitura promises a more open and interconnected production environment for printing and packaging industries.
The collaboration aims to break down barriers between machines from different manufacturers by enabling seamless data sharing and communication, and uses the interplay between Tessitura’s Odeon platform and Koenig & Bauer’s myKyana portal.
Tessitura, part of the Steuber group, and Koenig & Bauer say they share a vision of an open, interconnected production environment that doesn’t limit customers to a single manufacturing brand. The Odeon will serve as the backbone, intelligently connecting all printing and finishing machines within a company, regardless of equipment manufacturer, “whether modern or classic, and across single or multiple sites”.
Koenig & Bauer says its flagship myKyana digital platform now allows seamless integration of third-party machinery, with two of the standout components being the AI-driven Kyana Assist chatbot, and the Kyana Data dashboard tool. Kyana Assist offers “instant” technical help, with machine-specific guidance and is a resource for maintenance tips. K&B says it will soon also include AI-powered data analysis, allowing users to identify anomalies and make informed decisions quickly. Additionally, users can open support tickets directly within the platform.
Kyana Data provides deep insights through customised dashboards with real-time monitoring. It also includes an intelligent benchmarking tool that lets users compare their machine performance against industry peers and identify areas for improvement.
