They’ve got the parts. Now an African newspaper printer has the support to ensure that emergencies will be less likely and quickly resolved.

Press maker manroland Goss has reported that Printing & Publishing Company Botswana has signed for a new service contract, following a large spare parts order.

A long-term service contract at the southern African company – including regular and preventive maintenance – will significantly reduce the risk of future downtime. The contract includes provision for spare parts orders for each contract year.

PPCB general manager Brad Pullen says the service contract will secure production with their older twin-tower Goss Community press. “We were convinced by the quality of the parts and the implementation of previous repair work,” he said.

manroland Goss service manager for the African regions Markus Schmidt says the contract shows the attractiveness of their service offerings, enabling them to focus on their core business. “We are delighted to be able to support one of the largest printing plants on the Southern African continent and ensuring the reliable production of a Goss press line.”

Drawing on its global structure of market organisations will ensure that experts are readily available – in the case of PPCB, manroland UK and manroland Southern Africa will take over technician assignments, keeping waiting times to a minimum.
