Madrid-headquartered media group Prisa has made a new technology commitment for print production of its leading mastheads, confirming a relationship that has lasted a quarter of a century.

Prisa Noticias – which includes all the group’s news brands – has contracted for Atex Hermes for El País, Cinco Días, AS, El HuffPost, ICON and several more titles. The proprietary print publishing solution supports newspaper and magazine publication through a fully customisable workflow, with integrations able to manage the entire content journey, from ingesting wire agency feeds to final page output, and supporting both InDesign templates and custom-made layouts.

It is also fully integrated with Desk, Atex’s multichannel content management system, to provide a unified approach to managing high-quality print publications across complex media organisations. Design effort in a typical publication is significantly reduces thanks to an ‘alternative layouts’ feature.

Prisa’s IT governance, digital transformation and operational assurance director Diana Gonzalez Ortega has expressed her delight that Atex solutions will continue to support the group’s “most strategic assets in the future”.

Prisa creates and distributes education, news and entertainment content in Spanish and Portuguese-speaking markets, and is present in 24 countries, through global brands: Santillana, El País Los 40, W Radio and AS.
