UK maker of web cleaning and static control solutions Meech International has expanded into a new building, while retaining its former home.

The new 2700m2 production facility at Tungsten Park, Oxfordshire – just metres from the main building – will house production, purchasing, order processing and customer service, allowing the original building to be used for other functions.

Chief executive Chris Francis says the expansion demonstrates “substantial growth” being experienced. “It enables the teams to operate even more efficiently with one another and gives each of them the space they require to continue driving growth further still.”

The existing building becomes a platform for growth, boosting space for research and development.

Newspaper and magazine applications of Meech’s technology include the use of static electricity to “pin” collated webs so that they stay in register for cutting and folding operation.

The company’s web cleaning systems are used to protect inkjet web press printheads from contamination, and outside the industry, in battery manufacture.
