Satisfaction with last year’s show and venue has led to a decision to take Ifra Expo back to Vienna in 2011. The premier newspaper event returns to the Austrian capital from October 10-12 – with associated events on October 13 – after 90 per cent of visitors and some 80 percent of exhibitors judged last year’s venue as “good” or “very good”. Executive director supplier services and event management Michael Heipel says that as exhibition organisers, WAN-Ifra had found the general conditions in Vienna to be outstanding. “Our exhibitors value the service orientation of the team on site, our visitors feel at home in the international metropolis and very much like to come here,” he says. This year’s 40th anniversary IfraExpo is in Hamburg (October 4-6). New features include presentation of the Cross Media Awards and a welcoming ceremony for members of the International Newspaper Color Quality Club. A high-profile congress programme with internationally renowned lecturers will cover all aspects of cross-media publishing, mobile services, e-reading, innovative advertising, colour management, newspaper production, retrofitting, up to and including trends in corporate and magazine publishing. Opportunities in hyperlocal reporting will be analysed in the special ‘GoLocal’ event, organised with dpa. After the exhibition, on October 7, the International Advertising Summit will be held at Axel Springer in Hamburg in cooperation with INMA.
