manroland web has partnered a local painting specialist to outsource painting while keeping it inhouse.
Under the arrangement, wet varnishing and powder coating specialists Dorrer & Englmeier took over coating centre functions at the Augsburg factory last month.
manroland will outsource all painting works completely to the family business, pooling expertise and making use of the existing know-how. Dorrer & Englmeier will also act as a contract coater in the city.
Plant at the factory includes fully automatic powder coating, wet varnishing and phosphate conversion coating as well as cathodic dip primer coating and a sandblast cabin.
While optimising inhouse processes for manroland, the partners say business expansion will also create extra jobs.
"We are happy to have yet again found a strong partner for our production", says manroland director Alexander Wasserman. "Not only do we offer Dorrer & Englmeier a convenient and well connected site, but we also gain a partner who ensures an optimal material supply and the realisation of our painting work."
Dorrer & Englmeier and manroland web signed a long term contracts for procurement and warehouse rental, with workers being offered continuity of employment.
