Webnews Printing in Toronto suburb North York is extending and upgrading the register system on its DGM/Ventura press.

An existing QI Press Controls IRS system is being replaced with the newer mRC-3D system already in place on three towers.

Shop foreman Rob Desimone says the project will bring the whole press up to date and avoid the need to keep parts for both systems: "Based on the performance of the new system on the other part of the press, we opted for the full upgrade," he says.

QIPC-EAE Americas will install eight mRC-3D cameras on four towers to replace the IRS part of the press. "We are counting on better performance and less wastage. What's more, we will be future-proofing our printing press," says Desimone.
