manroland's newly-launched InlineSpectral Control is to be installed on a 64-page Lithoman heatset press sold to Hess Print Solutions.
Founded as The Press of Ohio in 1985, the Brimfield, Ohio, company was acquired by Bang Printing in 2013, adding books to its focus on healthcare, education, biotech and industrial vertical markets.
The new four-unit press will have a 1905 mm web width and two folders. A custom autoprint package includes DynaChange, InlineCutoff Control Dynamic, InlineRegistration Control with Color Balance Control, InlineFanout Control, InlineDensity Control, AutoJobChange, and WasteGate Control.
Spectral colour measurement with InlineSpectral Control promises uniform real-time measurement in the printing process, improving colour stability, reducing waste and offering comprehensive proof of the system's quality.
Along with the inline and job change controls and presets, the new press will also be equipped with manroland's 'new generation' of control console hardware and software including a wireless control console that enables the operator to control and operate the press from any location on the press.
A highly automated Rima-System postpress solution will communicate through an intelligent interface, delivering consistent automation for the whole system, including speed synchronisation, waste control and good copy count. At the core of this are two RS 610 HS log stackers with robotic log palletising and pallet handling.
manroland's DynaChange solution for flying job changes will switch jobs automatically on both sides at high speeds. The press also includes temperature controlled blanket cylinders, a requirement when running constantly at 50,000 64-page signatures an hour.
