Vizrt is to preview a new story publishing tool to help publishers place custom video and real-time graphics on social media and online.

Viz Story provides full real-time, state-of-the-art 3D graphics and handles and repurposes a variety of formats including Facebook's square video format, making engaging content rapidly available on any device.

Chief technology officer Petter Ole Jakobsen says existing tools for creating video reports have become inadequate: "Publishing content to multiple platforms at the same time needs to be done quickly and efficiently," he says. "We're giving content producers a way to create and publish stories extremely fast with a simple-to-use tool."

Facilities include repurposing existing video content in custom resolutions, including Facebook's square video format, plus real-time 3D graphics and the ability to publish to online, social media, VOD platforms or any website.

Templates help production of video with enriched graphics, giving a journalist a fast way to add text and define the style of text on video (TOV) content. Added graphics are then rendered in real-time. Multiple users can edit a project's timeline simultaneously from any browser, on any device.

Jakobsen says the huge rise in social media, especially Facebook, provides an additional outlet for media companies: "This has added to the challenge of users needing to distribute content as widely and as quickly as possible."

A tech preview of the collaborative video editing tool is being shown at NAB (April 18-21 in Las Vegas).
