Ferag will launch a new modular precollating system at DRUPA, as well as "numerous detail improvements" to its inserting systems.

Among these is the ability to connect EasySert via RollStream or FlyStream to handle up to 40 hoppers. A "worldwide innovation" here is being reserved for release at the show.

Chief executive Jürg Möckli says it will open up "unprecedented possibilities" when processing advertising material.

The new modular 'one2out' precollating line is designed as a loop-based expandable system for advertising products merged from two different production strands, optimising the inserting of supplements into newspaper products.

Ferag will show the 'one2out' line with one insert folded to form a jacket into which others are then inserted.

Both are based on the inhouse-developed Navigator planning and control software, which includes an Optimizer tool to calculate optimum configurations and predicts insert changes and production time.
