manroland has held a trade event to celebrate the first installation in the Americas of its FormerLine digital print finishing system.
The line at Brazilian textbook publisher FTD Educação in São Paulo complements an HP T400 colour inkjet web and . is linked to a Rima System book block collator. manroland's Workflow Bridge and MasterQ software are also part of the installation.
As part of the inauguration manroland worked with local sales and service partner Groupwork and host FTD to organise an event attended by around 30 representatives of major Brazilian printshops.
Guests were addressed by manroland digital sales project manager Christoph Blank and FTD production director Reginaldo Soares Damasceno. A presentation showed different book blocks produced on the fly with varying sizes and page counts highlighting the system's flexibility.
FTD created an extensive separate work area for the new inkjet book production line to achieve maximum workflow efficiency, with the FormerLine's performance automation and integration a topic of real interest at the event.
manroland regional manager Roman Herold and Groupwork managing director Franz Freiherr von Fürstenberg presented Soares Damasceno with an engraved silver plate to mark the special joint event.
