Trib Total Media has added reelstand control systems to an upgrade of their Goss Uniliner press announced last month.

Harland Simon will install drives and controls for the six MkII CT50 reelstands, using standard off-the-shelf components to eliminate obsolete proprietary elements, improve splice and waste performance and reduce maintenance time.

Harland Simon's Americas managing director John Staiano says the company is "extremely proud" to have received the order: "It is a pleasure to work with the team at their Warrendale, Pennsylvania, facility."

When the project is complete, Harland Simon will have upgraded press controls, master drive PLC, lineshaft drives and reelstand controls.

Control of reel, tension, pasting and sequencing will be customised to includes a colour touchscreen for setting and diagnostic functions, and networking to a central maintenance PC for support and diagnostics including 24/7 online support.
