India's Uttarbanga Sambad is adding QI Press Controls' mRC-3D colour register to its new press.
Supplier Naph Graphics is handling the order for a system on the new four-tower, two folder press being installed in Siliguri, in north-east India. Eight cameras are to be installed.
Uttarbanga Sambad production manager, Shekhar Karande says the aim is to make time savings in colour register: "We also want to print more accurately as well as minimise the amount of waste," he says.
Uttarbanga Sambad is a regional broadsheet launched in 1980, with a claimed 80 per cent market share making it the biggest newspaper in West Bengal. The company also has printing plants in Cooch Behar and Malda.
Shekhar Karande says the company hopes to make considerable savings of time and money: "What's more, we hope to improve the print quality," he says.
