After 'low point', PIAA asks for time

Australia's PIAA is asking members to give it time, after a meeting between board and action group members failed to resolve all issues.

A board statement said there were "of course" some key areas of concern where differences were resolved. They noted that a number of member concerns were also concerns of the board, but said the meeting ended with agreement on the direction the association needed to take. There are of course some key areas of concern where differences have not been resolved.

Acting president Kieran May says the board will meet next week to "quickly address the issues that led us to the low point of recent weeks.

"Communication and leadership style featured strongly in the discussion," he says.

There's no guarantee decisions will meet everyone's expectations, but May has committed to review "a number of key areas", and will be available to meet other members to canvass views and "provide some context" to decisions.

"I ask those who are considering their future as a member, to pause to let the board make the changes they need to again be satisfied with the service and value they want from the PIAA," he said
