Allen takes leave, Healey takes PIAA role, Black resigns

As Australia's PIAA saga rolls on, former chief executive Bill Healey has been appointed to an interim role, and Ross Black has resigned.

Outgoing chief executive Jason Allen has taken leave ahead of the special general meeting, and is not expected back before his contract expires.

The employers' group announced that Healey will be interim chief executive until a new chief executive is appointed.

In a statement, the PIAA board says it is committed to implementing its new business plan "to set the PIAA on the right path to drive profitable growth for members, embrace operational excellence, and refocus the Association on the PIAA core business - to lead the print industry and help members grow profitability".

• Latest news is that Ross Black has resigned as president and director of the PIAA board. Deputy president Kieran May move into an acting role until a replacement is decided.

Black says the position as no longer tenable with his role as commercial manager at BJ Ball due to "competing priorities". Thanks supprters, he urged members to help the board achieve its vision.
