In the suburbs of New Delhi, print capacity can equal circulation for growing Hindi daily Amar Ujala.
So a Manugraph just installed in Noida, and another on order for the Meerut plant, 70 kilometres to the north east - both all-colour presses of six and seven towers respectively - have a key role to play.
Meeting a rising demand for local language titles, the newspaper is published in 19 editions, with almost 2.5 million audited circulation and growth at almost ten per cent in the first half of this year, IPP Online has reported.
The six-tower 546 mm cut-off Manugraph Hiline 45 - which has QuadTech colour registration - joins two 533 mm Orient presses at Noida, the newest of which was installed earlier this year.
In Meerut, a seven-tower Hiline 45 is due to be installed in January, and will enable the broadsheet daily's print order to be increased by a further 25,000 copies. Currently TPH and Pressline presses each of five-and-a-half towers, share the load in Meerut.
Additionally, Agfa Graphics platesetters have been installed in Agra and Lucknow, with two more to go to Kanpur plant.
