National business daily the ‘Australian Financial Review’ will be the first user of EidosMedia’s Méthode multiple media platform in Australia. The deal also includes other titles in the Fairfax Business Media 15-strong print and online portfolio.

The order follows a global 500-seat installation at London's 'Financial Times', while another – at the 'Wall Street Journal' – has attracted the interest of other News group sites around the world.

Milan-based EidosMedia takes a media-neutral approach to publishing, with a number of high-profile orders for Méthode in Europe and Asia.

Fairfax Business Media chief executive Michael Gill says the move will streamline existing operations: “It will also speed up up the process of bringing new print and online products to market,” he says.

The Méthode solution will serve about 300 users located in FBM’s main Sydney newsroom, other news bureaux in Australia and Asian countries, plus foreign correspondents in financial capitals. All users will have access to Méthode’s central planning and editorial platform.

“Fairfax have a very diversified media portfolio which will benefit from the synergies made possible by Méthode,” Gabriella Franzini, EidosMedia group chief executive says. “They are also the first Méthode users in Australia and we are delighted to count them among our new customers.”
