A new Seiken 65 newspaper press at People's Railway News will have QI controls... following a tradition established 11 years ago.
In fact the new 75,000 cph press will have the Dutch developer's latest mRC-3D camera systems, with the customer saying nothing less would be good enough.
QI's managing director Menno Jansen proudly relates that Chinese People's Railway News in Beijing was his company's first Chinese customer for its IRS technology and that the system is still operating to their complete satisfaction.
"They are so happy with the service and quality they told Seiken that only a QI system would be good enough for the new press," he says.
The mRC-3D cameras with AIMS and colour register functionality will be installed on the new Seiken 65 newspaper printing press in the next few weeks, with an expectation of big waste savings and stable quality. A further reason is that collaboration "has always been excellent".
Paul Yu, managing director of QI Press Controls China says People's Railway News has 100 per cent confidence in them: "There was no doubt in the organisation's mind about coming back to us," he says.
"My contact told us the system has hardly ever misbehaved. In such unlikely events, help was always on hand from our people and they gave an excellent service."
Jansen is encouraged by what he says is "another ringing endorsement" of his company's status: "I was proud when People's Railway News was the first in China to invest in the IRS and after another 11 years I'm equally as proud of the fact that our systems are so beneficial that such a distinguished client as this has come back to us."
