Indonesian language newspaper the ‘Bali Post’ has celebrated its sixtieth anniversary with the start-up of a new Goss Community SSC press. The investment was made to provide additional colour capacity for the family-owned business, transforming the 20-page title from mostly mono to all-colour production. The single-width press has four four-high towers and a SSC 1:2 jaw folder operating at up to 35,000 cph. It replaces an older Community which has been moved to another printing facility. Bali Post is a subsidiary of the Kelompok Media Bali Post, a second-generation family-owned business founded in 1948. The group also publishes other local newspapers and prints newspapers and books for other publishers. Although the company’s roots are in newspaper publishing, the group expanded into radio in 1998 and into television in 2001. Bali Post Media Group now owns five radio stations, nine TV stations and has just launched a newspaper for mobile phones.
