Publishers and print plants which have promoted youth engagement need to get a move on if they want a share of the 2013 World Young Reader Prize awards.
Entries in the WAN-Ifra sponsored scheme close on June 13.
Among awards is one for printing plants. The Natasa prize - to a newspaper plant which teaches youth about journalism and press freedom - honours the contribution of Natasa Lesendric to that cause in Serbia.
The top Young Reader prize goes to the newspaper or online news operation that puts youth at the centre of its strategy - while retaining its older audience - and was awarded to Indonesia's Jawa Pos in 2011 for its Deteksi youth supplement (pictured) and other initiatives.
Other prizes this year cover making 'SoLoMo' connections, helping with health, and going green, as well as the core categories of brand, editorial, enduring excellence, 'learning with the news' and public service.
