WAN-Ifra's two top conference events - the World Newspaper Congress and World Editors' Forum - will come to South East Asia in 2013.
Deputy chief executive of WAN-Ifra Thomas Jacob told delegates at the end of Publish Asia today that next year's conference would be integrated into the two editors' events. The 65th World Newspaper Congress and 20th World Editors Forum would be held in Bangkok in the first week of June next year.
WAN-Ifra's Asia Media Awards will be merged with Ifra India in September.
The worldwide decision is a coup for the Asian organising committee behind this week's event. Publish Asia was held in Bangkok last year after having been deferred because of instability in Thailand earlier. This year's event has just concluded in Bali, Indonesia.
The 2012 Congress and WEF events are being held in Kiev, Ukraine, from September 2-5.
