Former web sales vice president of manroland Peter Kuisle has been appointed to a similar position in the new manroland web systems business established this week.

Insolvency administrator Werner Schneider has signed the sale contract with Lübeck-headquartered conglomerate L. Possehl & Co for the acquisition of the web offset press business located in Augsburg, creating manroland web systems GmbH.

Uwe Lüders, chairman of the Possehl group board, has taken over preliminary management of the company, leading a team of five.

Kuisle, vice president sales for many years, leads the service and sales divisions, with Dieter Betzmeier leading the technical division. Franz Gumpp is responsible for the production and purchasing division, with company development and human resources management in the hands of Daniel Raffler, and Dirk Rauh is in charge of finance.

“With this management team the new company stands for a high degree of stability and experience as well as innovations,” says a spokesperson.

“Around 1400 employees will find a long-term and secure job in the manroland web systems GmbH. Thus more than half of the jobs at the Augsburg site could be saved.”

The company says a long-term delivery contract with the facilities at Plauen will also support that site.

An optimistic Lüders says the new company has an excellently skilled staff and a good market position as well as ultra-modern and highly efficient products.

“In my talks with many customers I learnt that we are needed as a reliable partner in the future, too,” he says.

The new company that continues the new press business as well as the services, spare and wear parts business aims at annual sales of about 300 million Euro.

A proud Kuisle says manroland web systems will “show our competence as high performance business partner standing for innovations” at DRUPA this year.
