WAN-Ifra is bringing world class newspaper designer Hans Peter Janisch to a seminar in Kuala Lumpur at the end of this month.
The two-day training workshop will give participants the opportunity to review newspaper design basics, as well as to implement graphic innovations in their daily work of creating an appealing newspaper.
The dates are October 31-November 1, at the Park Royal Hotel Kuala Lumpur. Cost is SG$1,300 or SG$1,000 for members.
In the practical part of this workshop, participants’ works will be analysed, and design solutions for different sections will be discussed. Participants will then work on their ideas and create design prototypes with the help of the trainer
Janisch has worked as a newspaper designer and consultant to the newspaper industry since 1989. His work focuses on the redesign of existing publications as well as consulting on all issues pertaining to media design and infographics.
Over the years he has designed numerous newspapers in Germany, Luxemburg, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Kazakhstan and other countries.
Next to implementing creative design concepts, he is passionately committed to teaching journalism. Since 1990, he has guided WAN-Ifra newspaper design seminars as well as inhouse seminars in various countries.
