Beverley McGarvey has landed the top job at Paramount’s Network 10, following the departure of Jarrod Villani after three years sharing roles.
McGarvey has been appointed president of Network 10, head of streaming and regional lead for Australia and New Zealand. Previously, both she and Villani held ANZ executive vice president roles, he as chief operating & commercial officer & regional lead, Paramount ANZ, and she as chief content officer & head of Paramount+.
The change is immediate and comes as Paramount told staff of redundancies as part of a global cut of 800 jobs, about three per cent of its workforce.
The two had previously worked together within their individual responsibilities, consulting together on major decisions. Now Paramount Global says as president of Network 10, head of streaming and regional lead for Australia and New Zealand, effective immediately, McGarvey will have both commercial and creative leadership of the multi-platform business in Australia, with oversight of Network 10 and its portfolio of brands, including 10 Play.
She will retain current responsibilities, overseeing all original content from Australia, working with Paramount’s global studio organisation and the businesses’ commercial capabilities.
President and chief executive of international markets Pam Kaufman said McGarvey (pictured) had a proven track record of driving creative and commercial success. “With Beverley at the helm, we are well-positioned to maintain our strong position in Australia as the only global media company with a successful free-to-air network and powerful free and paid streaming platforms, powered by our global content pipeline and our range of originally produced Australian shows.”
