Awards for fantastic ideas – including those of smaller publishers – are set for recognition in the annual Asia Digital Media Awards.

Entries for the WAN-Ifra-organised competition open on May 20 and close on July 2, with winners in each category to be announced on August 23 during Digital Media Asia.

So if you’re proud of a marketing campaign that was a runaway success, or excited to have built a new mobile news app, now’s the opportunity to cast the spotlight on your best initiatives, motivate your team, benchmark your efforts with industry peers across Asia and stand the chance of receiving global recognition.

Categories cover best news website or mobile service, use of online video (including VR), data visualisation, paid content strategy (including paywall, membership or crowd funding models), best native advertising/branded content campaign, digital marketing campaign for a news brand, audience engagement, and best project for News literacy.

An award also honours the best special project for COVID-19.

To recognise smaller media companies producing great work, WAN-Ifra is adding a new silver award in the small/medium company category, which is for news media companies with annual revenue of less than US$10 million. This brings the total number of awards in each category to four – with a regular gold and silver award each, and a special gold and silver for the top two small/medium companies.

Entries from companies – regardless of size –continue to compete for gold or silver honours in their respective categories.
