India now has its own Digital Media Awards, with entries for a new WAN-Ifra competition now open until June 24.

The competition - jointly presented by WAN-Ifra and Google - complements the existing Asian Digital Media Awards, open to entrants from south east Asia, north Asia and Australasia.

Winners will be announced and honoured at the WAN-Ifra India 2016 Conference in Kolkata from September 21-22. The competition recognises publishers in South Asia - India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Nepal - who have adopted digital media and mobile strategies as part of their total product offering to meet the major changes in how people consume news and information today - including news and lifestyle websites and mobile services, data visualisation, online video, social media and tablet publishing.
