German daily Gelnhäuser-Neue-Zeitung has launched a new website based on Protecmedia's CMS Iter Web.

Bidirectional integration with the Milenium editorial solution used by the newspaper's newsroom means journalists work for all channels through a single work interface. Thus the e-paper version is generated simply - and almost automatically - from the newsroom. The mobile version has also been updated and improved.

The new GNZ website appeared at the beginning of February, and readers are offered a digital version of the newspaper free of charge for the first two weeks.

Benefits of the new site include faster browsing with news from the region is grouped by areas according to an interactive map. Facebook and Twitter activity is boosted, allowing readers' comments and participation in their social networks.

Editorial director Joachim Sinsel says the upgrade allows content to be managed in the different channels from a single editorial platform: "This strategic alliance with Protecmedia will bring new developments in the forthcoming years that will prove to be great interest for the company," he says.
