CES prepares for first Shanghai show

After the excitement of International CES in Las Vegas, the US Consumer Electronics Association is preparing for an Asian event in Shanghai.

International CES Asia will run from May 25-27 at the SNIEC, and is co-produced with local organiser Intex Shanghai Co, Ltd, and co-organisers including the Chinese Electronic Chamber of Commerce (CECC) and the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Product.

A full offering from major global brands to innovative startups, the full breadth and depth of the Asian marketplace's innovation value-chain will be on display at CES Asia, which will span 20,000 m2 of exhibit space in its first year.

Major trends and product categories, including 3D printing, robotics, sensors, the Internet of Things and wearables, will be prominently featured across the show floor and in the conference programme. Highlights promised include exhibitors GGMM and Thinking Group, plus global brands such as Audi, Ford, Garmin, Gibson Brands, Hisense, IBM, Intel, Monster and TomTom.

Audi chairman Rupert Stadler is to deliver a preshow keynote on May 24.
