With the end of service life announced for its Prinergy 8.x workflow, Kodak is urging users to upgrade or consider a cloud-based alternative.

From next month, customers running Microsoft Windows 2012/2012 R2 or an end-of-service software version should move to Windows 2019 and upgrade to Prinergy 10.0 or other supported software versions.

The company has also expanded its cloud-based offerings to include Prinergy Access, which it says is an innovative SaaS solution that automates file preparation, routing and storage “from anywhere”, through a web browser.

Print customers can upload files and use smart review to collaborate, annotate and approve files for print production from anywhere in the world. Approved files are then processed using Preflight+, trapping and colour management, with users alerted of any file issues.

An automated file routing feature sees print-ready files seamlessly sent to print on any on-premise digital device or workflow software, globally.
