Growing its offering in upgrades, enhancements and services, Goss International and its parent AIP have bought US postpress vendor Loudon Machine from brothers Boone and Noah Brandenburger.
Based in Effingham, Illinois, the company focusses on supplying bindery equipment, parts and service to commercial printers, and includes parts for Goss bindery systems in its offering.
Goss chief operating officer Stan Blakney says the acquisition - the second acquisition in 2017 after it bought Graphic Automation and Controls in March - enables Goss to enhance our bindery products and service and parts capabilities.
Goss and Loudon will work "synergistically" to expand their joint capabilities in the finishing and bindery segment of the commercial printing business, while augmenting the scope of Goss' customer service range, Blakney says: "We want to be able to fulfill customers' needs for new and refurbished equipment throughout, from press to post-press.
"Loudon enhances our capabilities as we continue to push down the path towards expanding our aftermarket business."
He says the company will continue to look for additional opportunities "for both organic and inorganic growth".
Goss chief executive and president Mohit Uberoi says he is very pleased with the progress made under AIP's ownership: "We look forward to announcing more acquisitions and collaboration deals in the near future, reaffirming our commitment to the printing industry."
