WoodWing's Enterprise 7 publishing system – shown at IfraExpo in Vienna last year – has been released. Chief executive Hans Janssen says the release opens doors so they can help “any company dealing with a publishing process". While the company’s products have traditionally been used by publishing houses, he’s looking to growth in corporate and marketing communications. Enterprise 7 is supported by new versions of the Content Station publishing tool and Smart Connection plug-ins for InDesign and InCopy. Focus has been on new Search 2.0 functionality, refinement of cross-media and social media publishing, as well as usability improvements and extended platform support. President Erik Schutt says Content Station has been designed to play a pivotal role in the publishing process: "Editorial staff, often burdened with assorted systems to get content published to both print and online channels, will see it as a relief,” he says. “All relevant activities - planning, gathering, selecting and editing content, as well as managing and publishing content to multiple online and offline channels - are performed using Content Station alone.” A revamped user-interface makes this easier and out-of-the-box integration with the Drupal open-source Web CMS has been enhanced. Additional integrations have been developed to improve publishing to social media networks such as Twitter, Facebook and Flickr. Users also have access to Search 2.0 options, with results classified for easy filtering, enabling the user to find the relevant content with minimum effort while saving time.
