A week after telling GXpress he had “no immediate idea of what he would do next”, after leaving Creative Folks, Matthew Green has been named as general manager of magazine group Publishers Australia.
He will take up his position on March 19.
The co-founder and former managing director of software distributor Creative Folks had been at the helm of the spin-off business for 11 years, and last year oversaw the sale of its consumable division to Digital Graphic Supplies.
“After almost 11 years at the helm of the business, from its humble beginnings as a division of Folks Graphics to a proprietary limited company in its own right, I have he says.
He was negotiating the sale of his share of the business and “had decided to it is time to move on”.
Publishers Australia chairman Geoff Hird says he had been a long-time supporter of the association, experiencing the benefits of both membership and sponsorship: “Add to this 20+ years working with publishers on their ever-changing technology needs and proven operational and business management skills, and we have someone who can bring a new dynamic and drive to PA,” he says.
Green says he is looking forward to the “challenging and deeply rewarding” opportunity the role offers and will be “focussing on initiatives to add value to the member experience” and delivering another successful Magazine Week.
